I got to try out N.Seat’s Pro 500 gaming chair for a bit. I’m going to tell you what I like and don’t like. And show you some photo’s of this gaming chair.

About N.SEAT

From their website: “N.Seat Gaming chairs incorporate ergonomic principles to deliver superior comfort and support. N.Seat chairs dramatically improves the user’s gaming experience. Designed specifically for people who sit for hours at the computer, N.Seat gives you the comfort when you need it most.”

N.Seat offers gaming chairs in 4 price segments: Pro 300, Pro 500, Pro 600 and Pro 700. No idea why they skipped the 400 in this sequence.

The chairs all come in these three colorways: black/blue, black/white and black/black. The Pro 600 and Pro 300 also have a black/red colorway and the Pro 300 has an additional black/green option as well.

Usage

Now I don’t game that much. I mean, I have three kids. Any parent knows you must manage your time VERY well to be able to game for hours on end. Anyhow, I do sometimes work from home, edit photos or work on some projects in general. So I do sit for long(er) periods.

Before I tried out this N.Seat Pro 500 I used a Sharkoon SGS4 in black and white. It is my favourite. Will the N.Seat take the throne? Read on to find out.

Comfort

First of all, assembling this chair was the easiest ever. I have never assembled a chair this quick. It was hassle-free, painless and fast! All the parts just seemed to fit together so well that I not once even thought of swearing.

Anyway, as soon as I took it out of the box I noticed the quality. The seat and separate pillows felt so nice. Especially the lumbar support pillow, so so so smooth and soft.

So I assembled it in what, 5 minutes? Easy.

Then I took it for a spin, literally. I sat down and spun around, and moved around my office.

I do this because I want to be able to pivot the chair without too much effort. I often move around in my office to grab something from a drawer on the sides of my desk or slide backwards to grab something from my second desk/build table.

I must say, the N.Seat Pro 500 does not win in the smooth wheels department. I might be spoiled by the Sharkoon SGS4 which I believe will roll on for miles with a gentle push. The Pro 500 on the other hand does need some effort to move around. No big deal, just something I noticed. You probably wont even move around as much as I do.

Another thing I notice often in (gaming) chairs is that with the racing style design comes a small or narrow sitting area. Because the sitting area curves up on the sides as you see in (racing) car seats, my legs are pressed together making the seat feel a bit narrow. Especially when sitting for longer periods of time.

Now you might say that this is just because I have a big butt. I’d like to think it is not that bad, I don’t know. Again, comparing this with the Sharkoon SGS4 is a difference of day and night. The SGS4 is extremely wide and I love it.

But the quality of the N.Seat Pro 500… wow. The PVC leather feels very smooth, the stitching is top notch and the lumbar support… fantastic.

I do like the design of the Pro 500 too.I mean, it looks cool. Tough. And the padded area looks very nice too.

But the quality of the N.Seat Pro 500... wow.

Verdict

Massive points for how easy this gaming chair was to assemble. Also points for quality and design.

I like this chair. It i comfortable enough to sit in for longer periods of time although I have sat in more comfortable chairs. The arm rests could’ve been a bit wider in my opinion, the same goes for the sitting area. I found it to be a bit narrow.

I rate it 7/10 and I would recommend it if you’re on the smaller side.
