I got to try one of Arctic’s headphones, the P533 PENTA. The P533 PENTA is one of three versions of the P533 headset amongst the P533 Racing and P533 Military. PENTA is a professional esports organization featuring some of the best video game players. They collaborated with Arctic to create the P533 PENTA edition.

The packaging

Aside from the usual stuff like leaflets, warranty information and more, there is a PENTA sports pin for all you PENTA Sports fans!

The thing that surprised me the most after unboxing was the protective carrying case the headset came in. It is actually quite hard and sturdy which gives me a good feeling knowing the headset is safe and sound when carrying it with me.

Design

The headset features a black and orange PENTA colour scheme which looks great. This isn’t the best choice if you need your headset to be minimalistic and unassuming. Each ear cup features a silver PENTA sports logo that pops nicely from the black and orange.

On the left side is the microphone. It looks different from most headset mics in that it is basically a metal arm holding the microphone and the cable. It has a spring-like mechanism, or elbow movement if you like, to make it bent closer to your mouth. In any case, this thing can be bent in many ways so you will find the most optimal position.

The orange cable looks so good! Orange and black just work so well together and the orange cable just pops. The P533 can be used on both mobile and PC and an extension cable of 2 meter length is included.

The padding on the top band is quite thick and has that accent orange stitching which looks fantastic.

Comfort

Aesthetics is a matter of taste but anyone buying a headset want it to be comfortable. I can tell you, this headset is very comfortable.

I need my headsets to be over-ear. I am quite picky. On-ear headsets make my ears hurt within minutes. The longest I had the PENTA P533 on was for about 5 hours on a workday. Of course I occasionally had to take them off but for the most part of these 5 hours it was on my head and it never felt uncomfortable. The inside of the ear cups had plenty of padding to make wearing them a pleasure.

This headset is so well-balanced. Clear and crisp high-end and a full mid-range.

Sound

I used the P533 PENTA for both gaming and listening to music. For music, the P533 sounds decent. I mostly listen to electronic music like techno and house. The bass is quite important to me and I was satisfied enough. For gaming this headset is great. I mostly played The Witcher 3 and Elder Scrolls Online and the experience was very good. This headset is so well-balanced. Clear and crisp high-end and a full mid-range.

Verdict

This headset is perfect for me; a casual gamer that listens to music a lot. At this price point there is some strong competition from brands like Corsair, SteelSeries, Razer and the likes. But if you’re looking for a simple, decent headset for different occasions I do recommend it.

I rate it 8/10 and I do recommend it.
